HEIGHTS WIN SEASON OPENER

Avondale Heights Football Club Seniors won the Round 1 season opener against Maribyrnong Park by 25 points. The game was close all day and at half time, the Heights led by 5 points. In the third quarter, the Heights took the lead out to 15 points but Maribyrnong Park continued to press in the last quarter and got within seven points before crucial goals by Galea and Rose put the game beyond doubt. The Reserve Team had a convincing win to see them on top of the Reserve Grade ladder whist the Under 18's lost to Maribyrnong Park.
