HEIGHTS JUNIORS BEGIN FINALS CAMPAIGN

The Avondale Heights Football Club have a  number of junior teams playing finals next week. In a season where most of our teams were promoted into a higher grade, the Heights have had a great year with their junior teams. The following is a outline of where teams have finished at the completion of the home and away season:

Under 10's Division 8    Finished 5th and just miss out on playing finals with a final four in this division. This is our development team and the players have come a long way. Congratulations to this team on a fantastic season.

Under 10's Division 2    Finished 4th and will play in an elimination final against Keilor next Sunday. Great effort by this team who were promoted from Division 3 and were in a division with traditional Division 1 clubs Keilor, Pascoe Vale and West Coburg.

Under 12's Division 8    Finished 4th and will play in first semi final against Pascoe Vale. A fantastic achievement by this team who for a lot of the season were still recruiting players to field a team

Under 12's Division 3    Finished 4th to make finals after defeating West Coburg by 7 goals in the final round to take West Coburg's spot in the finals series. West Coburg defeated our U12 team by 9 goals last time these teams met. Huge improvement with our U12 Division 3 team securing a finals spot winning last round by 7 goals. They will play Westmeadows in the first Semi Final

Under 14's Division 6    Finished equal first to secure an elimination final against Taylors Lakes. A tremendous effort to get this team on the park after some hard work by our junior group in recruitment.

Under 14's Division 2    Finished 4th and will play in an elimination final against Keilor. What a great effort by this group who after being promoted into division 2 have held their own to secure a finals spot.

Under 16's Division 2    Finished 1st and clearly on top after an impressive season. Our under 16's team will have a week off and will go into their finals campaign full of confidence.

The Avondale Heights Football Club are extremely proud of the achievements of our teams and look forward to an exciting finals series. So lets get behind all of our teams and  Go Heights!!
