MEDIA RELEASE - CORONAVIRUS UPDATE

This is a brief update to let you know that last night Glen Graham (Football Club President), Michael Aird (Football Club Vice President) and Darren Sheridan (Sporting Club President) met to discuss the current situation and impact relating to the Covid-19 Coronavirus Pandemic.
As a collective, we are committed to keeping you all up to date with the COVID-19 impact on the Avondale Heights Football Club season.

The Essendon District Football League have postponed the season until 31 May. This includes the banning of any training leading up to this date.

Moonee Valley City Council who own the pavilion and lease it to the Avondale Heights Sporting Club together with ground access have banned access to the facilities at Canning Reserve effective 23 March. They will review this position in mid April.

At this stage, we simply don’t know what will happen after 31 May and while we discussed a number of scenarios last night, for now it’s a matter of wait and see.

The most important thing at this time is for everyone to stay safe and adhere to the guidelines and rules in place for our sake and for the sake of our community.
Please look after yourselves those close to you.

The club will continually monitor communications from the EDFL and will notify you all accordingly.

Please contact any of the club committee if you have any queries.

Regards,
Glen Graham
Football Club President
